HANDOVER CEREMONY OF SECURITY PATROL VEHICLES IN EKITI STATE

The handing over of the 5 security patrol vehicles to Ekiti State Government was held at the Government House, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State on Wednesday 14th January, 2015. The security patrol vehicles were received on behalf of State by the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency, Peter Ayodele Fayose.

Other dignitaries at the event included:

  • Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Dele Olugbemi
  • Chief of Staff, Mr. Dipo Anisulowo

  • Permanent Secretary, Govt. House & Protocol, Barrister Dele Agbede
  • Mr. Gbenga Oyebode, Director MTNN
  • Prince Julius Adelusi – Adeluyi, Director MTNF
  • Mr. Akinwale Goodluck - Director, MTNF
  • MTN Trade Partner – Executive Director, Royal Service Wireless Limited, Mr. Gbenga Ani

Prior to this event, the handover ceremony of the security patrol vehicles had been held successfully in ten states in 2014. The beneficiary states for this 3rd phase of the project are: Abia, Benue, Cross River, Ebonyi, Edo, Ekiti, Kwara, Niger, Osun, Rivers, Sokoto and Zamfara. The 5 security patrol vehicles for Osun state will be handed over later in the year.

The security patrol vehicles provided to beneficiary states were with the following specification:

  • Toyota Hilux Shell Spec
  • 5 Speed Manual Transmission
  • 4 Wheel Drive
  • Auxiliary Gear & Air Bag
  • 2.7 Litre Petrol Engine
  • Double Cabin with Side Steps
  • Licensing of the Vehicles
  • Air Conditioner
  • Radio/CD Player
  • White Colour Patrol Body with Arc Shape
  • Installed Telecommunication Gadgets
    • 4ft strobe bar light (Street Hawk Brand),
    • Electronic siren & microphone;
    • Motorola GM140; 12.5KHz; 40 watts;
    • UHF analog radio with microphone, dc power cord;
    • UHF swivel mobile antenna
  • One Year Comprehensive Insurance Cover

 

The MTNF Security Support Project was flagged off in 2012 to complement the efforts of the State Governments in improving security operations in the country.

In phases 1 & 2 of the project, a total of 115 fully kitted security patrol vehicles were provided to 18 States of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory
